David Verinder has served as President and CEO of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System since 2014. He joined SMHCS in 2006 as the Chief Financial Officer and later served as Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, David has overseen the development and successful implementation of new medical services and programs to improve the region’s access to top-quality care, including the opening of Sarasota County’s only Trauma Center and the development of the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute. He is the current chairman of the Safety Net Hospital Alliance of Florida and is on the Southwest Florida Council of Boy Scouts executive board. He received a B.A. from Louisiana State University and MBA from Auburn University. David joined the Healthcare Foundation board in 2019.
