The patient-focused and goal-oriented Sarasota Memorial rehabilitation team offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient therapy to help people overcome the challenges and disabilities caused by an illness or injury. Housed in the new, state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Pavilion, Sarasota Memorial’s acute inpatient rehabilitation program is the only hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation unit in Sarasota County, with complete medical care and emergency services available for those who need continued physician or nursing supervision.
SMH’s Rehab program has earned the highest level of accreditation from the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), with additional certification as a Stroke Specialty provider. Medical Director Dr. Aurora Wong oversees a full spectrum of services to meet the medical, rehabilitation and mobility needs of people recovering from brain and spinal cord injuries, stroke and neurological disorders, and orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
